Help keep our campus community safe from scams – if a message seems suspicious, first report it to itprotect@umass.edu.
Learn how to spot phishing scams
Microsoft 365 email and the Outlook app provide further options for reporting phishing messages, which can help protect the campus community and improve message filtering.
Note: Outlook versions vary, and some interface elements can be customized – so specific details may be different on your device.
The Report Phishing option may not be available in Outlook for non-UMass accounts.
Note: In Outlook Desktop on Windows or Mac OS, you may have a toggle switch in the upper right of the window for New Outlook, which enables an updated user interface.
New Outlook uses the same process to report phishing attempts as Outlook Web App (outlook.office.com).
On the left side of the window, right click a message preview.
Click Report, then Report Phishing.
While viewing a message, in the top right of the window, click the 3 dot menu button (the one furthest to the top right of the window).
Click Report message, then Report Phishing.
