Staff, instructors, & advisors

UMass Staff or Employee can access and save Favorites in SPIRE.  Students do not have Favorites.

Accessing Favorites, two ways:

1. At the SPIRE Center is the Favorites tile (heart).  All Favorites will be saved there.
2. Using the NavBar icon (looks like a compass in upper-right);  when clicked, a number of other icons will slide out from the right: Recent Places, Favorites (heart), Menu (blue page, white lines) and any other shortcuts saved to the NavBar.

Note: Favorites are listed alphabetically, except for the top item: "Edit Favorites."  See below for more on that.

Saving Favorites:

Favorites can only be saved when a SPIRE page is opened through Navigator.  Favorites cannot be saved when accessing a page through a tile. 

1. Use the Menu icon (blue page & white lines, found by clicking NavBar/compass icon in upper right) to navigate to the page to be favorited.  It corresponds to the Main Menu of Classic SPIRE.
2. At desired page, select the triple-dot icon in the upper right.
3. Select “Add to Favorites.”  A pop-up will appear with the default page title.  You can edit the favorite title here.  Click Add to save it.

Editing Favorites:

• When the Favorites icon or Favorites tile are selected, "Edit Favorites" will be at the top of the list.
• Use the checkboxes and Delete button to remove items.
• Edit the name of the favorites in the first column.
• Change order by editing sequence number.  If "0," they will be listed alphabetically by default.
• Click Save.

Note: you will also be able to “Save to NavBar.” These will show on the NavBar below the Menu icon. Items on the NavBar can be removed by clicking the gear icon (located at the top right of the NavBar).  Click the red x icon to remove.
