Connect to eduroam on a Chromebook


Use the instructions below to connect to UMass Amherst's encrypted wireless network, eduroam, using our setup and configuration wizard, JoinNow. You can also use these instructions to recreate your connection if it is deleted or if you change your IT Account password.

Connect to eduroam on ChromeOS Version 45 or Later

  1. Navigate to the status bar in the bottom right corner of your screen and click the WiFi icon.
  2. Click on eduroam in the Internet connection menu.
  3. Select EAP-TTLS for the EAP method.
  4. Set Phase 2 authentication to PAP
  5. Skip down to the Identity field, enter your NetID followed by @umass.edu. (This may not be your actual UMass email address) 
  6. In the password field, enter your IT account password. 
  7. Click Connect. Verify that you are connected by opening a Chrome window and navigating to any website.
