Export Grades from the iClicker Classic Gradebook


You can export your student grade data as an independent .csv file or sync it directly to Moodle.  

Export grades as a CSV file

  1. In the iClicker Classic gradebook window, click Export (icon below). The Export Session Data window opens

    Note: It is a good idea to click Sync Roster before exporting to make sure that iClicker has your most current Moodle roster and student clicker registrations (refer to Import a Moodle Roster to the iClicker Classic Gradebook).
  2. Select the check boxes next to the session(s) that you want to export, and click Next. The Export Session Data window opens.
  3. Set the settings under Selected Sessions to control whether to export each session as a separate entry or aggregate sessions together, and set the Points Exported settings to determine whether to include performance, participation, or both types of points in your CSV file. Click Export. The Save Export File window opens.
  4. In the Save As field, enter a name for the file. In the Where field, choose the location your file will be exported to. Click Save. Your file is saved to your local machine. 
  5. Open the file using a spreadsheet program. You can print the spreadsheet, edit any of the results, or save it in a different format. 

Sync grades to Moodle

  1. In the iClicker Classic gradebook window, click Sync Scores (icon below). The Log in to your learning management system window opens

    Note: It is a good idea to click Sync before exporting to make sure that iClicker Classic gradebook has your most current Moodle roster and student clicker registrations (see Import a Moodle Roster to the iClicker Classic Gradebook).
  2. If you have not yet logged into Moodle using the Gradebook tab under the Settings menu of your iClicker Classic course, follow the next instructions:
    In the LMS Username field, enter your NetID (you do not need to enter your IT account password). In the Security Key field, enter the security key from the iClicker block in your Moodle course (refer to Integrate Moodle and iClicker Classic), then click Log In. The Upload Scores to LMS window opens.
  3. Select the check boxes next to the session(s) that you wish to transfer, and click Next. The Upload Scores to LMS window opens.
  4. Set the settings under Selected Session(s) to control whether to sync each session as a separate entry or aggregate sessions together. Set the Points Uploaded settings to determine whether to sync total points, performance points, participation points, or both types of points as separate entries. Click Upload.
  5. The synchronization takes place automatically. When the synchronization is ready you will see the following message: Scores uploaded successfully. Click Close.
