Software Description

MATLAB is a proprietary multi-paradigm programming language and numeric computing environment developed by MathWorks. MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages.

How to Obtain

MATLAB can be acquired by the following means:

  1. Go to the UMass Amherst Mathworks Portal
  2. Click on "Get Software" on the top left of the screen
  3. Click the blue "Sign In To Get Started" button
  4. Create a Mathworks account with your UMass Amherst netID@umass.edu
    1. Or Sign In with your Mathworks account if you have one
  5. Once logged in to Mathworks, click the blue "Get Started" button
