Azure Dev Tools for Teaching (formerly known as Microsoft Imagine Premium or Microsoft Dreamspark) offers eligible UMass Amherst students, faculty, and staff a wide range of MIcrosoft products at no cost.
Microsoft Office is not available through Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, but is available at no cost for students, faculty, and staff through Office 365. Sign in with your UMass Amherst account.

Additional details & restrictions
- Retirees and part-time faculty and staff are not eligible for this program.
- Each eligible individual is entitled to one key per product to install on a single computer.
- Additional keys will not be available if reinstallation is required.
Available Software
Azure offers over 60 products, including:
- Windows operating systems (e.g., Windows 10)
- Select Microsoft software (e.g., MS Project, MS Visio)
- Microsoft developer tools (e.g., Windows CE .NET)
- Windows server operating systems & applications.
How to Get Access
To access Azure Dev Tools for Teaching, you will need to sign in with a non-UMass personal (not work or school) Microsoft account. If you don’t have one, create a personal Microsoft account first.
- Go to azureforeducation.microsoft.com/devtools and click Sign in.
- Sign in with a non-UMass, non work or school personal Microsoft account.
- On the Student Verification page, enter your information.
- Enter University of Massachusetts Amherst in the School name field.
- Enter your UMass Amherst email address in the School Email field.
- Complete the verification puzzle if necessary and click Next.
- Check the box to agree to the subscription agreement.
You can un-check the boxes for receiving tips and offers and for sharing information with Microsoft’s partners if you want. - Click Verify academic status and accept terms.
- Check your UMass Amherst email for a verification message to complete activation.
