The UMass Amherst Property Office and Office of Waste Management provide departments, faculty, and staff with a convenient, no cost way to dispose of and recycle computers and electronic and magnetic storage media. This service is designed to help University departments comply with state and federal laws, and University policies, and helps reduce the risk of data exposure by securely disposing of computers and storage media.

Colleges and Departments should work with their IT support to dispose of computers and electronic and magnetic media so it can be properly removed from inventories.
