Use these instructions to connect your laptop or other wireless device to the UMASS SSID.

Note: To use non-browser programs that require an Internet connection, you must first open a web browser and log in.

1. In the Desktop, click the Wireless Connections icon (top right) and from the drop-down menu, select UMASS.
2. Open your Web browser (e.g., Firefox) and try to access a non-HTTPS website (e.g. disney.com). You will be automatically directed to the Wireless at UMass Amherst login page.
3. In the Wireless at UMass Amherst login page, enter your IT Account NetID and Password. You will be redirected to the Web site you originally attempted to open.
4. You can now view other Web sites or use non-browser programs that may require access to the Internet.
