Connect Gaming Consoles & Streaming Devices to the Wireless Network

UMass Amherst community members can connect gaming consoles and streaming devices to UMASS-DEVICES to access applications and play games online. Note: Connectivity is not guaranteed.

Supported devices: Gaming consoles (Nintendo, Playstation, Xbox) and personal assistants (e.g. Amazon Echo) and some other consumer device types. Support for specific devices on this network is provided on a best effort basis, and some may have trouble connecting.

How to Connect

Follow these instructions to register your device, and then connect to the UMASS-DEVICES network.

  1. On another device, go to https://devices.it.umass.edu and log in with your NetID and password (where Username is your NetID - do not append '@umass.edu' to your NetID). The New Device Registration page will open.
  2. On the New Device Registration page:
    • You will see the Passphrase (PSK) for the network.
    • In the MAC Address field, enter your device's MAC Address.
See the manufacturer's documentation for instructions on how to find your device's MAC address.
    • In the Description field, enter a short description of your device (for your reference only).
    • From the Device Type drop-down menu, select your Device Type.
    • Review the Terms of Use and check the I own this device and accept the terms box.
    • Next, click Create Device. The Finished Creating Device page will open. This page shows your device registration information.
  3. To register another device, or manage your devices, use the Device Registration menu options on the left.

Congratulations, you can now configure your registered device(s) for UMASS-DEVICES. If you have questions, call 413-545-TECH or email it@umass.edu
