Microsoft Teams Calling: Common Area Phone Operating Procedures for Yealink MP56

 

Answer a call
  1. Pick up the handset.
  2. Tap the answer icon .

 

Answer a Call When in a Call

You can another incoming call even when you are in an active call.

  1. Tap the answer icon on the touch screen.
  2. The active call is placed on hold and the incoming call becomes active.

 

End or Reject an Active Call

Tap the end icon

 

Put a Call on Hold and Resume a Call
  1. During a call, press the pause icon or tap more options icon > Put call on hold.
  2. To resume the call, do one of the following:
    1. If only one call is placed on hold, press the pause icon again or tap Resume.
    2. If multiple calls are placed on hold, tap the play icon on the right side of the desired held call.

 

Place Calls
  1. Pick up the handset
  2. Tap the make a call icon  on the Calls screen and then tap the dial pad icon  .
  3. Enter the contact number.
  4. Tap the call icon

 

Transfer a Call to Someone Without Consulting with Them First
  1. During a call, press the make another call icon or tap the more options icon > Transfer > Transfer now. The call will be placed on hold.
  2. Enter the contact information to search and then select the desired contact.
  3. The call is then immediately connected to the number which you are transferring to and you can hang up.
Transfer a Call to Someone After Consulting with Them First
  1. During a call, press the make another call icon or tap the more options icon > Transfer > Consult first.
  2. After the party answers the call, tap the transfer icon beside the contact. It will prompt you whether to transfer the call or not.
  3. Enter the contact information to search and then select the desired contact.
  4. Tap OK to complete the transfer.
  5. After the transferred party answers the call, the call is transferred and you can hang up.

 

Mute and Unmute Audio

To mute the microphone during an active call so that the other party cannot hear you.

  1. During a call, press the mute key on the phone or tap the microphone icon on the touch screen. The mute key glows red when muted.
  2. To unmute audio, press the mute key on the phone or tap the no microphone icon on the touch screen. The mute key glows green when unmuted.

 

Add Contact to Favorites

You can mark contacts as favorites to dial them more easily in the future.

  1. From the Calls screen, tap RECENT.
  2. Tap the desired contact.
  3. Tap the star icon for the contact to appear in the FAVORITES list.
