You can provide students with easy access to all of your Echo360 recordings through a single link and/or through individual recording links. When a student clicks on an Echo360 integration link on your Moodle course page, Echo360 automatically creates an account for them and adds the student to your Echo360 course section.

To create a link between your Moodle course and Echo360 recordings, you first need to add the Echo360 External tool activity to your Moodle course.

Add the Echo360 link to your Moodle course

  1. Request your Echo360 course.
  2. Log in to Moodle.
  3. Navigate to your Moodle Course Page. Click Turn Editing On. The Moodle course page editing options appear.
  4. In a section of your Moodle course where you want the link to appear, select Add an activity or resource. The Activity chooser opens.
  5. From the Activity chooser, select External Tool from the Activity list and select Add. The Add a new External tool page opens.
  6. On the Add a new External tool page, enter an Activity name that clearly identifies this as the Echo360 ALP tool. (For example, Spring 2019 STRFLT-ACDM 101 Echo360 Recordings).
  7. From the Preconfigured tool list, select ECHO360 ALP. Note: DO NOT enter a Launch URL in this screen or change the Launch container setting from Default. Click Save and return to course.
  8. Return to your Moodle course page, which now displays the Echo360 External tool link you just created.

  9. Optional: If you are not using Echo360 to generate a grade, under the Privacy heading, uncheck Accept grades from the tool

Note: After you have added an Echo360 External tool activity link to your Moodle course, you need to configure it to connect to your recordings. You have the option to configure a link to connect to all of the recordings associated with your course or to individual recordings.

Configure the Echo360 link to provide access to all recordings

  1. Click the Echo360 link that you just added to the top section of your Moodle course page. The Echo360 Link Content page opens in a new tab. You may need to enable pop-ups in your browser for this page to open.
  2. On the Link content page, select the Section drop-down menu. A list of your available Echo360 course sections appears in the format of "Course short name - SPIRE academic term-SPIRE course number (Semester and year)" e.g., STRFLT-ACDM 101 - 1193-12345 (Spring 2019). Select the section for your course.

Select the section for your course.
  3. Select Link to a classroom. A list of available recordings appears.
