The Classic Quizzes tool allows instructors to administer online quizzes and exams.
The tool offers many different types of questions (Multiple Choice, Short Answer, True/False, etc.). Many types of questions can be graded automatically. Instructors can control the release dates and times for quizzes, set time limits, allow multiple attempts, grant extensions, and more.
Canvas also offers an alternative testing option called New Quizzes. New Quizzes is still in development, and currently offers a different set of features from Classic Quizzes. We currently recommend using Classic quizzes unless a specific feature is needed.
